Lifeline owns a significant stake in Cell & Tissue Systems, a company which it developed from inception. CTS operates a state-of-the-art applied cryobiology and cell therapy research facility providing scientific research and technical support for Organ Recovery Systems and Bowman, in addition to its own proprietary product development efforts for in vitro diagnostics and allograft tissues such as heart valves, saphaneous veins, cartilage and pancretic islets for transplantation. The work at this facility has been substantially funded through US government grants and contract research. Lifeline expects to seek licensing and joint venture opportunities for CTS’s key inventions.
